I ordered the Pro-Slide after speaking to another curler at my club and seeing Reid deliver rocks at the Briar. It has certainly made a positive difference in my glide and delivery. It is certainly sturdier than other products out there and provides, at least for me, more stability and thus greater confidence and I can now focus on my aim and release. As my glide is smoother and longer I've had to adjust my points of release (I actually passed the hog line unwittingly a few times at the start). I recommend using it in practice before taking it into a game. It is smooth and effortless and seems to glide at the same rate as my shoes and the rock. My previous stabilizer now feels like it's holding back my glide as if dragging. It is heavier and lower but the weight is not an issue nor is the height and the grip allows for differing heights. If you know someone who uses this product, ask if you could try a couple of glides and you will notice a significant difference. Think about it this way, a traditional stabilizer has several small points of contact with the pebbled surface and the glide can be bumpy at times as these points can get in between the pebbling. The Pro-slide has two very large areas of contact, front and rear, and glides smoothly over the pebbling just like the shoe and rock. The glide material at the bottom is very similar to a the thick material on the bottom of the curling shoe. I just find that my shoe, stabilizer and rock are more in sync. It feels right to have the Pro-Slide in one hand, rock in the other and the shoe slider in the middle. As stated previously, my biggest adjustment was determining my new release points as speed and distance out of the hack increased and improved.
